1. Tent

Whether you’re planning an elaborate affair or a smaller more intimate day, you don’t want to be caught without a tent. Planning an outdoor wedding in the Pittsburgh area can be wildly unpredictable due to rapid swings in the weather forecast. The last thing you want is for you and your guests to be stranded in a storm with no coverage to go to. Even if the weather looks beautiful you don’t want your poor grandmother baking in the sun all day.  You and your guests want to be able to ENJOY the day and be comfortable, so always make sure you have plenty of tent coverage for the entire wedding.

2. Tables and Chairs

With so many options to choose from these days, from classic round and traditional banquet tables to family style this is one detail you don’t want to overlook.  Think of just how special it is to have all of your closest family, friends, and loved ones sitting together sharing a meal all in honor of you.

3. Portable Dance Floor

You will do some of your most important dancing of your life on the dance floor at your wedding reception.  From your significant first spin as newlyweds to the meaningful one you’ll share with your parents.  In honor of these special moments, make the floor beneath your elated feet just as important.

4. Outdoor Power Source

Although, probably not the first thing on your mind when it comes to planning your outdoor wedding it sure is one of the MOST important ones.  If you’re having a tented outdoor wedding, you more than likely don’t have power plugs that you can plug right into next to the tent, but you WILL have a lot of things that need plugged in from the lights to the DJ and photobooth.  You’ll always want to calculate how much power is needed, and then make sure there’s twice as much power available as required.

Quiet run generators are best, as they won’t be distracting or annoying with their quiet hum of running.  No need to worry about where to get them, as we have portable generates for rent.  While you can hook into land power, if you’re lucky enough to have a source close to you, you have to keep in mind that you CANNOT run extension cords hundreds of feet from the power source.  The further you run the cord the more power you lose.  Bottom line is that when it comes to an outdoor wedding you don’t want the lights to go out in the middle of your fabulous night.

5. Restroom Facilities

While always not the most exciting part to think about when planning your tented wedding they are definitely a necessity.  With the elegant and luxurious feeling restroom trailer units available, you and your guests will feel as if you’re walking into a regular venue restroom instead of being outdoors.  As these units are heated/air conditioned and have running water throughout.  If you don’t have the budget for the trailers there’s always the option of the flushable clear water porta johns with sinks as well.

You also have to keep in mind placement of the restroom facilities, as you don’t want to have them in view of where people are eating or as a background in any of your photos.  You do need to have them though within a reasonable walking distance for everyone to get to.
